Panic attack. Can't breathe. It is the day I have been waiting YEARS for. I was up at 6:03am, showering and getting ready. By 8am, I drove up to Cloudtown to walk across the stage. Luckily, I found Kate and was able to sit next to her for the ceremony. I had all these ideals for graduation, everyone would adoringly listen to the speeches, or that I would at least I would like the speech. Neither. Most students were texting, taking photos, talking to eachother or sleeping. But the relaxed ceremony let me truly understand that although I did work for years to get a degree that is celebrated by my walking across the stage, shake hands with professors and the president of the University...but that there is SO MUCH MORE TO COME. And that this day is merely the beginning of the REST of my life. So, this is the AFTERLIFE blog. This is all about my life after college.
I must also tell you, I have ADHD, so sometimes I get a little off track or rant. I am sorry. Anyways, once our college was announced, all of my classmates stood up to walk to the stage. Before I left my row, I ran into Emmanual {Manny}, he was shocked and excited to see me, he jumped up to give me a hug and say congrats. It was so nice to see such a great friend for the first time in a few months, it was especially nice to be able to graduate with such a great friend. On my way to the stage there were 3 professors that jumped up to say "Hello." and Congratulate me for graduation, which were accompanied by a hug. I think Kate was a little jealous, as her comment was, "wow, i feel like i did NOTHING in college next to you!" I was blessed in college with many, many opportunities to participate in organizations, excel at projects, and work. While walking across the stage, the President of the University said, "Congrats Kyle! I am SO proud of you." I feel like I truly made a difference on the campus community with how many people that know who I am, and that I was able to make an effect on their lives. I smiled pretty for the camera and enjoyed the rest of graduation with family and friends. Nancy, Dave, Neil, Tiffany, Mom, Gregg, Dad were all in attendance! I loved seeing all of them and enjoying all the time together.
Later that evening I was able to spend some time at Emmanuel's graduation party and finally meet all of his family and ADORABLE niece! I also had a fun time playing pool downtown with Neil, Tiffany, and my dad. I was able to see Kayla, Jenny, and Whit downtown and spent much the rest of my evening with them, which was a BLAST! Eventually I walked home in the pouring rain, and crawled into bed. I can't wait to see where else life takes me now...
