I have learned SO much in my college years...(a full term with 2 victory laps!) and I would love to share knowledge with anyone out there..so, if you have ANY questions or need advice I am willing to share it. Whether it be Resume, Tough work situation, budgeting (first four years of college with no loans...this girl can budget!), transitions (12 moves!), or anything else...don't be afraid to ask...IF YOUR THINKING IT, SO IS SOMEONE ELSE! So here is my extention if you have any questions.

Random Ramblings
got to pee in a cup yesterday, but it was worth it because I passed. (was not worried about it!) So, it is OFFICIAL!
I HAVE A JOB! I start on Sept. 24 and I will be working at the Boys & Girls Club as the Program Director at one of their sites!!!
I am IMMENSELY (SP?!?) excited to start working there, and let me tell you..I REALLY lucked out on the job search. Although I gave my resume out to TONS of people, I only seriously input it into two job openings hoping to get those jobs..and I got offered both. However, I chose this one because I can start on my own merit and be my own person, which is really important to me. (With the other one, my mom is the bosses boss..so it makes it a much stickier situation!) Other than that, I am just packing all my things up and getting ready for my trip to WASHINGTON DC! Which I am REALLY excited for!
I also got accepted for my apartment, which is located 4 miles from work...and 2 miles from Lambeau Field (Packers stadium. GO PACK!) which is a lovely two bedroom. I will post pictures when I move in!
I am beginning to gather everything for the big move, and trying to find things cheap (like pots, pans, etc.) but I will be on my own once again! YAY! And I am REALLY lucky to be moving to a place where I know people and have friends.
Sorry for the rambling...I think my life will become more interesting once I move into my own place ! EEEK!

New Job
Interviewed at two places. Got two job offers. and Accepted one of them. They were the same job, except one is in the Twin Cities and I could have lived at home...the other is out of state and I would need to find a place to live. The place in the Twin Cities means I would be the "bosses daughter" as my mom is the CEO there, which makes it REALLY hard to get a job on my own merit, and show who I am due to their concern that I am merely a spy, even though I just want to work with kids!
I chose the out of town job. The one that meant living on my own. Living in a different state than my mom. starting a job on my own merit, where my boss doesnt know my mom. I am PROUD of my choice and very, very excited to start my job. Biggest thing I learned, have a KICK ASS resume. If you need help in this area, you can always contact me...as I learned a lot from a classmate & friend named Carrie.
I also got approved for my apartment. so now the pressure is on to figure out my finances to pay for it all before I get my own paycheck.
Dad is moving back to WISCO soon. Should be interesting & exciting!

Summer Camp Recap.
Summer 2000
Family lived in Chicagamee (Small cabin) together and I attended Jr. Teen Camp session with Punky & Splash as my counselors. I sprained my ankle mid week, and just kept chugging along, although all of my counselors thought they were getting fired because I got hurt and was the "bosses, bosses daughter."
Summer 2001
I attended Jr. Roughin' it with a bunch of kids (13 kids total) and my counselors on the trip were Zuko, Redwood, Big Toe, and Keesus. The trip was a blast and included...photos of road signs, Zuko's corn shop, caving, Friday breakfast with all the sugar you could imagine, running through a sprinkler, and loving life. Got to know Craig better this trip, and it was the beginning to becoming best friends.
Summer 2002
I attended Backpacking the Porkies with Splash and Snoopy. Craig went on this trip as well, but there were only 5 campers total. TOTAL. I got to know everyone really well, the highlight of this trip was driving in the vans with everyone, laughing about bear attacks at McDonalds, and the other Kyle that was REALLY HYPER! Also, Splash spilled our LAST meal all over the ground..which also happened to be the best tasting meal!
Summer 2003
L.I.T. one. Along with many other teens, I became a Leader In Training and lived in Pawnee for the summer. The summer was spent working with kids, laughing, painting cabins, trust activities, and getting to know Craig better. He was mad at me because my family had moved to Green Bay (2 hours away.) and told me I didn't know what it was like to lose a best friend. Eventually he understood that I DID indeed understand. We became MUCH closer this summer! I also got a tan line of a hand print on my left arm due to someone covering their hand in paint and putting the paint on my arm. I had SO much fun at camp, and learned EVEN more. Started to love the magic here.
Summer 2004
L.I.T. two. With many other teens we lived in Pawnee. Craig was there again this summer, summer camp was the only time of the year we were able to see eachother, but we kept in touch via AIM (and chat engine) and talking on the phone all the time. I jumped off the power tower this summer, which helped to conquer my fear of heights. Found more magic.
Summer 2005
L.I.T. three. Last summer of being an LIT. Lived in Pawnee again with everyone. Met many new people, Craig was here again this summer and it was nice to see him alot! We were BEST FRIENDS by this point. During a highway cleanup we found a lot of innapropriate items such as...beer, condoms, vibrator box, signs for Road Kill Cafe, Liquor, and garbage. All the "bad" items were enough to cause a stir between us all and give us entertainment for a few hours. Truly fell in love with camp and the family bonds I had created. Many LITs had been together for 2-3 years, and past LITs were staff at this point. Bellz and I got to know each other better, and created a lifelong friendship.
Summer 2006
Camp Counselor. CAYUGA, Baby! Funshine (Rachael) was my co-counselor. We had a great time with all of our girls, and in the cabin. There was a bit of drama this summer, but many staff stayed the weekends, which led to entertaining weekends, although when I wanted to get away, Craig and I would drive to his house to relax and see some of our "home friends" (his friends, that I hung out with.) Really fun summer. Craig met his future wife, Megan...pretty much love at first sight (or so I would guess!) Highlights include getting to know new staff, nights out to the tracks, and a mass drug test of the entire staff! Zuko was Director of Counselors and I was able to get to know him a little bit better.
Summer 2007
Cultural Studies. Lifeguard. Impromptu LIT coordinator. OEL Coordinator. Among many other jobs. I did a lot this summer, and learned even more about myself. Funshine and I lived together in staff and I enjoyed getting to know her even better ! Many refer to this summer as NEVER HAPPENING, because by week 3 we had lost 2 fulltime staff (one left for new job, the other was fired.) and things were a MESS. About 1/2 of the summer staff had quit by this point. Only 3 weeks of REScamp since we had no staff.
Summer 2008
Worked at VEC as the Program Director. Learned SO MUCH about myself, others, communication, cultures and supervising. Because of this summer I was able to grow and become the person that I am today. I have big WORM to thank for all of the help, support, guidance, and the opportunity to learn so much from him and life in general. What a great experience! Realized this summer just HOW MUCH i loved CWM, and needed to return.
Summer 2009
Village Director-Junior Village. Was able to learn a lot about my life this summer as well. It was great getting to know lots of new staff and the kids. The other VD and I didn't get along AT ALL, and fought DAILY. Which made working with her very difficult, but camp found about 8 AMAZING men that worked at camp for up to 4 summers later (more soon?? unknown..) I also met someone really special at camp and was able to get to know them over the course of the few months. They truly changed my life and reminded me how much I value education, loyalty, communication, and commitment. Mentored Aimee/Twitter and truly made a connection, loved seeing her grow! Camp Magic was returned.
Summer 2010
Day Camp Counselor. DAY CAMP. DAY CAMP. DAY CAMP. I did this job because it was all that was left, and TRULY fell in love with the kids and the program. I was able to help grow the DC program from rough to a beautiful diamond over a few years (but this summer being the first!) Had campers that I loved, and what started as 15 kids a week avg. ended with an avg. of 32 a week. GREAT IMPROVEMENT! Did I mention I fell in LOVE?!? The KIDS WERE AMAZING. Highlight was watching Charms eat turtle food and convincing him he had salmonila poisoning. Met DOJO. and many, many other AWESOME staff.

Assistant Day Camp Director. Was able to spend my days swimming in the pool, playing kickball, capture the flag, and doing art projects. Fell even more in love with the kids over the summer and LOVE DC! I could not have found a better fit for myself at a summer camp. Highlight was DC*DT running around camp causing trouble. Built a massive tent fort inside to be protected by flying bats on a staff only sleepover. McGee slept on the porch with me because it was too hot inside. Had a kid that headbutted and butt slapped. LOVE MY KIDS!
Summer 2012
Assistant Day Camp Director. The magic of camp TRULY came out this summer in SO many ways. The day camp program went SO well and I really loved seeing the kids on a daily basis, and spending time with the kids all the time. "My merrigold got eaten by a gopfffa!" Seeing the kids daily was the best part of the job. I also got to know a lot of the staff from the other side and made life long friendships. Especially 2 very unlikely friends, that I have known for a few summers that I was able to connect with and talk to, and is now a great friend and advice giver. I have a pen pal from this summer, which I am excited to exchange letters with. Order of the Feather is awarded to 5-6 summer staff that go above and beyond their job. It is an award we give out each year. Once you get the award, you can't get it again..and it is voted on by your fellow co-workers, who each get 2 votes and must write a paragraph of reasons why people should get the award. This summer I was a recipient. I GOT IT. When they were talking about each person, I was the last person announced, and I didn't THINK i was going to get it. Zuko presented my award, which was very interesting, funny, and emotional. Having known him since I was 13, really puts a spin on the mentor relationship and the chance to get to know the person. When he gave me the award he whispered, "You will always have a home here." which REALLY meant a lot. The overwhelming response from all the staff was, "About damn time." "that was WAY OVER DUE" and "You seriously didn't get it before this year??" Which was a great feeling. Each of the winners wrote their camp name onto a paddle with a wood burner, which will hang on the wall of ABL building for years to come. I feel like I was able to make a difference this summer. Another place I felt that I was able to connect and make a difference was with a new fulltime staff. This person seemed to be SO strong on the outside, but was really struggling with a new identity of working at this camp and feeling like we were trying to recreate who she was. But through many conversations, and listening, I feel like I made a difference by showing that you can accept new things and still keep the old. I think this person will be a GREAT FRIEND for years to come. CAMP MAGIC IS ALIVE!
So, that is what each summer held (although SO much more happened...those are the highlights.) As you can see, I am leaving a lot of history at camp and will TRULY miss working at camp. It was the hardest job I ever loved.
** Aimee/Twitter had a baby named Kilee in February. I was able to spend alot of time during the summer with them, and seeing the babe. I can't wait until they can come and visit me at my new job! :)
